The Rookery Engagement Photos

The Rookery engagement photos – Annika and Jason

The Rookery engagement photos – Annika and Jason’s engagement session took place in Rookery Park, located in Streatham Common, South London.

It was raining the whole day, but a couple of hours before our session, the weather started to get better and during our session the weather was great.

We decided to shoot around sunset, because the light is more flattering at this time of the day. Although shooting around noon is possible (and I love this challenge!), it’s good advice to shoot around the hours of sunrise or sunset because of the light quality then.

The Rookery is a beautiful park, especially during spring – it’s full of flowers, a pond and a garden. It’s one of Lambeth’s 12 Green Flag Award-winning parks.  This kind of environment is fabulous for an engagement session.

Though Annika and Jason didn’t have any previous experience of an engagement photo shoot, after just a few tips from me, they relaxed and had good fun during this one–and-a-half hour engagement session  The result was an amazing pre-wedding photoshoot.

I photographed the couple’s wedding in June and you can see some of the photos in this blog post.

If you are interested in having photos taken with your partner, please let me know… no previous experience needed 🙂

Below you can find some samples from this engagement photo-shoot at The Rookery.
